After realizing that Photoshop can open those neat PDF grids (duh), I proceeded to use the marquee tools to remake my mini-dungeon. Once all the spaces were outlined, I "inverted" the selection to fill the solid areas with blue, leaving the grid lines showing through the chambers and tunnels. The retro color itself (code 25E2FF) was sampled from the "ArchMage Dungeon Maps" over at the Greyhawk Grognard site. Upon close inspection, my map isn't as exacting, since I'm still relying on my eye to draw over the grid. Additional features like doors and statues will also have to be approximated. |

If you have enough Geek EXP, you know who these extraterrestrial dames are, and which shows they starred in. Would this not be the superior space cantina? |

I drew this spoof comic as a tribute to the torchbearers over at the Greyhawk Online site, dedicated to old Oerth. Sadly, I'm not as wise as Mortellan, their comic artist, who can actually make jokes "laser-targeted" on WoG lore. I resort to diaphanous Elf armor! |

I have to laugh at how serious some geeks get over superheroes; they raise a lot of racket on the Web, especially when Hollywood steps into the ring with a BATMAN movie or the recent WATCHMEN one. My interest in such story lines is curt, only going back to when the Warner Bros. studio was airing the animations based on the DC comic world. In the '80's, I considered most books to be graphic flotsam - steroid freaks in disco Underoos made me cringe. Admittedly, I missed some good series, but it's not like I can't go and find them again. I'll see something floating around on sharing sites, and if I like it, I'll go buy the book at Amazon or Ebay (no local comicbook store). For role-players, there are serious and not-so-serious rules and settings for the genre. The HERO system is great for the former, which I have tried once. My friends and I made a "strange society" team that included a hyper-speed girl, a weapon expert, my gravity manipulator, and Jimmy the Goat. Jimmy appeared to be a human rock-n-roll star, but in reality he was a satyr with illusion/psi power. Sadly, since we only played a couple sessions, I didn't make any character art. I do recall my HERO stats though: |

Not impressed by the cat-girl on the new PHB2? The latest issue of FIGHT ON has the weirdness you want! I'm talking about over 120 pages of Arduin encounters, random roll charts, oozing undead, fearful fungi, and hex-fulls of wilderness mayhem. My own contributions were a few pieces of art, like this Elven Knight wearing a blend of samurai and gothic armor- |
